Congregational Announcements

Living Your Faith: Summer is a time of harvest, vacations, and everyday living too. How are you living your faith? Where do you see God? Send photos to kfunk for use on our worship bulletin board in the foyer.

Harvey County Homeless Shelter: Tabor is scheduled to serve at the Homeless Shelter June 29-July 5. Please sign up on the bulletin board to help.

WDC Annual Assembly will take place July 29-30, Friday evening -Saturday, on the Bethel College campus in North Newton. Please let the pastor’s or Kim know by July 13 if you plan to represent Tabor as a delegate. If you need a registration form, contact the church office. A portion of the registration fees will be reimbursed to delegates.

Community Picnic: Everyone is invited to the third annual Goessel Community Picnic, on Sunday, July 10, at 6:00 p.m. at the Goessel Park. Save the date for a good time of food, fellowship, and fun. Sponsored by the Goessel Ministerial Alliance.

Prayer Requests:

« Western District Conference: Pray for the pastors and congregations in leadership transition, as they seek God’s guidance for the future.

« Mennonite Mission Network: MMN requests prayer for the 70 students enrolled at the Toba/Qom Bible Institute in the Argentine Chaco, who are reading the Bible in their own language as they study theology and an overview of the Old Testament. May God touch the students’ lives, as many don’t participate in any church.

« Mennonite Education Agency: Pray that students, faculty and staff at Mennonite Schools would continue to be formed in Christ for leadership in the world.

Western District Conference Annual Assembly:

—At Western District Conference Annual Assembly, we’ll share stories of how the Spirit is moving among us as disciples of Jesus, and celebrate God’s presence with us. What are the mission-centered opportunities that have inspired us to greater faithfulness? Join us on the Bethel College campus July 29-30. —All women are invited to Western District Women in Mission’s annual lunch meeting at WDC’s Annual Assembly. Come hear about WDWM and some exciting upcoming opportunities, connect with other women, and build relationships. Register by July 15 by contacting Nancy at wdc

Mennonite Central Committee: The summer months bring lots of volunteers to the Mennonite Central Committee Material Resource Center (MRC) in North Newton and we love it! We’ve had such good help lately that we need to replenish a few kit items to keep our future volunteers busy! Here’s the current list of most needed items: shampoo (13-24 oz.), nail clippers, large bars of laundry soap, bath and hand towels (medium weight, dark or bright colors), fabric measuring tape (metric), sanitary pads (18-24 ct, thin maxi). Donations may be brought to the MRC in person, purchased online and shipped to MCC or you can simply donate money designated “Kit supplies” and MCC will purchase the needed items. Questions? Mennonite Voluntary Service is accepting applications for the 2016-2017 year! Opportunities to serve and live in community with others are still open in a variety of placements and locations, including teaching in Puerto Rico. Ages 20+ can apply at NeilR for inquiries.

Coming up at Camp Mennoscah!

—The Young Adult Weekend is getting closer! Youthful adults aged 18 and older will be gathering at Camp Mennoscah on July 29-31 for a weekend of worship, camp activities, and all stuff fun. There’s a chance to roast your own meal, go swimming, sing around the campfire, and be in the midst of creation. Scholarships are available.

—The annual Camp Mennoscah Camp Sing is August 7 at 6:30pm at Grace Hill Mennonite Church in Whitewater. You’re invited to bring your friends and join us for camp songs, hymns, and that camp favorite–popcorn and generic pop! Summer staff will be there to lead the festivities. Come join in the fun!

—Camp Mennoscah’s Mental Health Spiritual Retreat is September 4-5. This retreat is for all who are affected by mental illness–family, friends, and anyone who knows someone affected by mental illness. Join us for support, worship, and sessions on Courage in Community. Activities include singing, swimming, hayrack ride, and crafts.

—It’s a combo event! Work & Play Camp and Camp Mennoscah’s Annual Meeting have joined together for five days of making Camp Mennoscah better! Put September 16-21 on your calendar with a big star for Sept.18 for the Annual meeting. We’ll be working on a slew of different things. Tasks for all ages and skills will be available. Keep looking for more information!
