July 2 announcements
Pets in the Park Ice Cream Social: Sunday, July 2 at 6:30pm, come to the church park and bring your favorite dessert or ice cream topping to go along with ice cream that will be provided!! Don’t come alone! Bring your four-footed, furry friends with you if you would like (leashed and people-friendly animals only please). We will have an evening of fun and ice cream for all!
We are looking for volunteers! There are opportunities to lead games and crafts, provide snack, as well as be a helper for Children’s Faith Formation this summer. Please check out the sign-up sheets in the foyer.
We are also looking for some supplies for children’s summer Faith Formation crafts. If you have scrapbook paper (they do not have to be full sheets; scraps are okay!) or beads (for jewelry) that you would be willing to donate, you could put them on the table in the supply room. Also, we are looking for #6 plastic (such as the clear lids that come with aluminum baking pans); please also put those in the supply room. Talk with Krista Graber if you have questions.
The Tabor Mennonite Women will be going to the MCC Center in North Newton on Tuesday, July 18 to have a work morning from 9:00am – 12pm. Please bring snacks for the mid-morning break.
WDC Annual Assembly will be August 4-6 in Arlington, TX. Annual Assembly is a time to gather as disciples of Jesus from diverse communities, to celebrate God’s faithfulness, strengthen fellowship in Christ, and share stories of how the Spirit is moving among us. This year’s assembly theme highlights that we are brought together by our common purpose of joining God’s mission in the world. For more information and to register by July 19, see: http://mennowdc.org/annual-assembly/#2017annualAssembly. If you are interested in being a delegate, please contact a Pastor soon. Deacons will provide $100 of financial assistance to help cover registration costs for Tabor delegates.
Tabor Church Food Pantry Urgent Needs: Summer is here! With children spending more time at home, there is greater need for non perishable food donations in our community food pantry. Most needed: canned meat, cereal, ramen noodles, mandarin oranges, applesauce, corn, peanut butter, jelly, pancake mix, syrup, laundry soap, dish soap, shampoo, and paper grocery bags. (We have plenty of green beans and peas at this time.) Cash donations are also welcome for gifts cards to Keith’s Foods, to be used for perishable food items. If no one is available when you bring your food donations, you may leave them in the foyer beneath the coat racks across from the church office. Thank you for your continued support of this vital ministry.
It’s time to celebrate! “Uncle Milt’s Shed” will be celebrating its 15th year of providing kids with make-it-take-it crafts at Threshing Day this August. We are looking to replenish our crafting supplies and need approximately 100 empty/clean tin cans (15-20 oz. sizes—the kinds that come from vegetable/fruit/soups) and calico print fabric. All donated items can be delivered to the Mennonite Heritage & Agricultural Museum (Tuesday-Saturday, 10 am-5 pm) or to Susan Nafziger by Friday, July 14. If you have questions, feel free to contact Susan at 367-4623. Thanks for your support!

« Mennonite Disaster Service: Pray for the folks in Utah, California, and Arizona who are battling more than 20 fires in the three states. Pray that all of these will be contained and that no deaths will result from these devastating blazes.
