As Mennonites we cherish our Anabaptist tradition. This tradition which emerged in the early 1500s in The Netherlands has emphasized the importance of Christ as the pattern for our daily lives. Consequently it is our intent to reflect the love of Christ in all our activities and relationships with one another.

Worshipping With Us

Sunday Mornings

We are offering 2 different options for worship. Please choose the option that feels best for you and your family:

  • Worship at Home: Access the Live-streaming link sent out with our bulletin and available on Tabor’s website
  • Worship in Sanctuary: See below for further details

Worship will begin at 10:45 a.m. on Sunday morning. Transcripts will continue to be sent out with the weekly bulletin.

Zoom Faith Formation (WOW and CAFE) will begin at 9:00 a.m.

Children’s Faith Formation activities will continue to be sent out with the weekly bulletin.

Here is the COVID Protocol for the month of May:

We still want to maintain a measure of safety for all Tabor Church attenders. We are relaxing the protocol somewhat but want to continue to be smart and alert to the Covid19 Virus. Some statistics that play into the decisions are: According to the Marion Co. Health Dept, as of April 22 only 26% of eligible people have been vaccinated. 12 new Covid cases were reported April 20. (We have not studied Harvey Co. statistics yet.)

–Mask Wearing Indoors is still encouraged but not mandated. Masks are not required outdoors, although will be respected if you feel most comfortable wearing them.

–During worship service the people speaking from the front microphones (behind the pulpit or on the floor) are encouraged to remove your mask to accommodate those who have had difficulty understanding the speakers. Vocalists on the stage are encouraged to continue to wear a mask to not spread airborne droplets. The congregation is invited to sing on the last hymn of the service.

–Contact Trace Recording will be discontinued. If you test positive after attending a church event, PLEASE call one of the Covid Task Team or Kim Funk.

–Sanitizing stations will remain available and encouraged to be used.

–Social Distance seating arrangement in the sanctuary will continue to be used through May. If there are more than 120 people in attendance feel free to sit in a roped off area.

–Mailboxes will again be used.

–Gatherings that include serving of food are still discouraged. Groups of less than 50 may meet with food if individual plates are prepared and served (versus potluck style).

–Later May or June, Faith Formation classes will resume in classrooms and in the Hospitality Hall. Announcements will be made for class locations. Christian Ed is making plans for most of Bible School to be held outside unless inclement weather.

Thank You

Covid Task Team – Gayle Funk, Duane Duerksen, Erica Stolzfus

Remember: If you do not feel well or if you know that you have possibly been exposed to Covid-19, please stay home and join us in worship through livestreaming.

Our Worship Style is a mix of contemporary & more traditional styles and varies from week to week. Bulletins containing the order of service and other news are posted online weekly.

What to Wear… is up to you! On Sunday mornings you will see everything from jeans to suits.  Many dress “business casual”.
