Rejoice! The devotional books for June-Aug. can be found on the shelf below the mailboxes. These are provided by Christian Education for anyone wishing to use them.
Tabor Mennonite Women: If you signed up for the Tabor Women’s Mystery Trip on Thursday, May 23, 2019, please note the following details:
—Meet at Tabor Church at 5 pm. Please be prepared to pay $20 before you are assigned to your ride. We will leave the church promptly at 5:30 p.m., so please be on time. We will return to Tabor between 8-8:30 p.m.
—What if I need to cancel? We recognize cancellations may be necessary. If you need to cancel your reservation, please do so by contacting Ruby Graber or Pastor Rosie Jantz as soon as possible or on Tuesday, May 21, to avoid a $10 cancellation fee (the restaurant policy).
—We’re looking forward to fun, food and fellowship with you!
Final Cleaning for the new addition will be on Wednesday, May 29! Come for supper at 5:30 with cleaning starting at 6:00. Everyone is welcome to come help with this final step of the project!
Vacation Bible School:
—61 hungry children are registered for Bible School! Please sign up to provide food for snacks during VBS! If you have questions, please contact Camille Adrian.
— Newspapers are needed for the craft sessions at VBS. Put them on the table in the supply room.
—Bible School Monday Lunch: This year, a noon meal will be offered free of charge to all children, families, and volunteers on Monday, June 3. This is provided by Tabor’s Outreach Commission. If you want to attend this lunch (and didn’t already RSVP on the Bible School registration form), please email Pastor Phil (pschmidt) by Friday, May 31.
Free Books! If you would like a red hymnal or a Tabor Church Centennial photo book, feel free to pick one up from the table in the church foyer.
Tabor Church doors have been rekeyed: Anyone having keys to the church, outside and inside, please turn them in to the church office as soon as possible. If you need a key, we will issue a new, numbered key to you.
Needing Dishwashers for New Kitchen: If you are willing to be a committed dishwasher for our new kitchen, we Need You! There will be a training with our new dishwasher system the last week of May (exact time to be determined) and if you are willing to train and then be a regular dishwasher for Tabor events, please see Gayle Funk or Kenton Nickel. Thank you for your consideration!
Coming this Summer for the children! “Jesus was a kid like me” will be the theme of our summer faith formation time. Come on out, Detectives, and discover the really cool things that you have in common with Jesus as a boy. There is a sign up sheet posted on the bulletin board with opportunities for you to help.
Summer Day Camp: Sponsored by area churches, this is a Free Day Camp in July for children entering 1st-5th Grade. Brochures with dates and complete information can be found on the table in the foyer. Sign up today!!
Bethesda Home Annual Meeting May 30, 7 p.m. in the Bethesda Chapel. Join us to celebrate an excellent year of fiscal responsibility, generous donor support, and a dedicated staff caring for our residents. A pie social will follow the meeting. We look forward to seeing you there.

Prayer Requests:
« Western District Conference: Pray for Camp Mennoscah staff and board, as they plan for the summer camping season, as well as ongoing projects and priorities for the future.
« Mennonite Mission Network: Tomorrow through Friday, the JCS International board of directors and other administrators are gathered for meetings. Pray for safe travel, smooth logistical arrangements, and fruitful discussions so that God will be honored through the ministries that take place in Mongolia. Mennonite Mission Network partners with JCS International.
« Mennonite Education Agency: Pray for Bethel’s graduating seniors and their families as they celebrated baccalaureate and commencement at Bethel College. Give thanks for commencement speaker Dwight Krehbiel, professor of psychology, who will retire from Bethel after more than 40 years.

Camp Mennoscah:
—Work & Play Day will be May 25 at Camp Mennoscah from 8:30am to 2:30pm. These single work days replace our fall Work & Play Camp. Projects will vary based on skill and ages. A simple lunch will be served. All ages welcome; those under 18 must have an adult with them.
—Nurses needed for June 9-15 and June 23-29! Camp Mennoscah is seeking a nurse for Junior High I Camp (June 9-15) and Junior I Camp (June 23-29). These positions come with either a stipend or a full camper discount. Nurses need to be licensed in Kansas and be a RN (or equivalent).
—Kitchen staff needed! Contact us for dates. Kitchen helpers only need to be able to follow directions and have willing hearts & hands!

Mennonite Central Committee (MCC)
—MCC needs your help to replenish supplies in our Material Resources Center! The following items are running low: black and white spools of all-purpose thread, minimum 250 yards, for Sewing Kits (each kit has 3 spools of each color in it). Lotion, minimum 10 oz, for Returning Citizen Care Kits, and sanitary napkins, thin maxi, any count, for Relief Kits. MCC only distributes complete kits, so when we are low on one item the processing of the entire kit comes to a halt. —Opportunities to serve with MCC in Haiti – Tired of ‘cubicle-based’ work? Here’s a chance to use your storytelling, writing, photography, creativity, listening and learning in a different setting! MCC Haiti is looking for a communications coordinator to use their multi-media skills to share the context, challenges and solutions of local partners more broadly. Hesston College:
Mennonite Economic Development Associates (MEDA) Kansas Network Hub and Hesston College Aviation will partner for an evening learning event and catered meal on Tuesday, June 4, at the Hesston College hangar at the Newton City/County Airport, 502 N. Oliver. The programming and meal are free though donations are welcome to help with expenses. Reservations are required by Friday, May 31 or until maximum capacity is reached. RSVP at sballard or 620-896-7381. The evening’s programming will include tours of the Hesston College Aviation facility and airplane fleet, meeting the instructors, information about the flight training program and the recent addition of a four-year bachelor degree, and demonstrations on the simulated advanced training device.
Bethel College:
—Sun., May 19 – Bethel College celebrates its 126th commencement this afternoon. Say a prayer of thanksgiving, and hope for the future, for the Class of 2019 and their families and friends.
—Sat., June 1 – This year on National Trails Day® (a program of the American Hiking Society), the city of North Newton has also declared Jacob D. Goering Trail Day. Goering died Jan. 12, on his 101st birthday. He was a founder and a driving force behind the development of Sand Creek Trail on the Bethel College campus. June 1, members of the Sand Creek Trail Committee will have water available for walkers at the Memorial Grove trailhead of Sand Creek Trail from dawn to dusk.
Offender/Victim Ministries: We’re in search of a new Program Director for Prison Ministries! This part-time position coordinates our M-2 Prison Visitation and Prison Arts programs at Hutchinson Correctional Facility.
